Sale Statuses Management
Closing and Opening of Sale on a Flight or a Segment
Close sale on the flight (segment) function assigns zero values to «Availability of seats» and «Waitlist» parameters for all cabins and booking classes of the relevant flight or segment making it impossible to sell tickets in distribution systems for corresponding seats.
Opening sales at the level where they were previously closed restores values of the «Availability of seats» and «Waiting list» parameters to the levels that were assigned to them before closing operation.
If the value of open/close moment of an element (flight, cabin etc.) is deleted, element status will not change.
Remember the following rules:
- If open/close time is set, it influences the current status. For example: if the cabin opening time in the future is specified, then upon saving the current status will be automatically set in Close value. If at the moment of values setting the past time is indicated, then at the moment of parameter saving the object will be switched to the indicated status.
- Upon setting of the status on the inventory screen or through a mass operation, its automatic change per the open/close parameter is turned off, and the open/close time value is erased.
- Upon manual change of the element status (flight, cabin etc.), previously set open/close values are deleted.
- It is not allowed to set the same open and close time. In that case an error message will appear upon saving attempt.
There are several ways to open/close flight/segment/class/cabin:
- through the inventory screen of a flight (for a flight for a specific date)
- using the «Close/open of a flight/segment/cabin/class» business rules
- using the “Class statuses” mass operation
- using the “Close/open flight/segment/cabin/class” mass operation.
Using Inventory Screen
To edit values double-click the selected field. A value setting form will appear:
The value is indicated in DD.HH.MM format (days, hours and minutes) in relative (if the «Absolute» mark is not set, the value is in the form of number of days, hours and minutes before the flight departure time) or absolute time (the «Absolute» mark is placed - the number of days before the flight departure and hour and minute of that day).
The Open/close flight/segment function in the Actions menu works in the same way as editing on screen:
1. press the Actions button and choose Close/Open Flight/segment in a drop-down list. As a result, a flight/segment status management window will appear:
2. if the flight is opened, mark the Open field for the flight status; 3. indicate the status for each of the segments of the flight, if necessary; 4. press Apply. After that, the flight or segment status management result window will appear.
RBD Sale Status
RBD sale status is information about seat sale status in a booking class published into external systems.
Management of sale status in booking classes is carried out by change of a value of the particular booking class on the specified route segment or by the «Class status» mass operation.
If a number of seats for sale (AV parameter) becomes less or equal zero as a result of flight inventory management, values of the Sale status parameter for the corresponding class take the value Closed automatically.
There are sale statuses as follows.
Status | Description |
---|---|
LA | A class is open for sale |
LC | Limited sale in a class, waitlist is closed |
LL | A class is closed for sale, waitlist is allowed |
LR | A class is closed for sale, waitlist is closed, bookings are allowed in the “On request” status |
To change sale status for a class:
- Proceed to the inventory screen of a flight.
- Double click on a cell Status in a row corresponding to the booking class. A list of statuses will be presented:
- Specify the parameter value in the cell and click on a free space of the screen. Save the changes.
There is a possibility to indicate for each class a moment when it will be opened or closed for sale. The value is set in the number of hours before the departure of the flight in columns Open and Close for each class in a format of the absolute (number of days before the departure and day and minute of that day) or relative (number of days, hours and minutes before the flight departure) time.
Specified value is automatically transformed into moment of time in relation to departure time.
To save changes, press Save in the upper right corner of the screen.
If no time of opening and/or closing sale in the class is specified, then sale opens and closes corresponding to the business rules options. If no business rules options are set, then sale opens in accordance with default settings, which are configured in "Carrier settings" section.
