Waitlist Management
Waitlist (WL) is a PNR status between the moment of booking and the moment of confirmation.
Waitlist is applied under the following conditions:
- The requested seat is not confirmed that is, the PNR is not moved to the HK status.
- Move of the PNR to the WL status is allowed.
Further processing of the PNR in the WL status implies the confirmation of the PNR in manual or automatic mode if vacant seats appear in the booking class or confirmation of over limitation appears in the booking class in manual mode that is, compulsory move of the PNR to the HK status that leads to negative availability (value of the AV parameter is less than zero).
Waitlist parameters are defined for a cabin or a booking class and are not available for editing.
The parameters of managing waitlist in a cabin:
- MWL: the maximum allowed number of PNRs in a cabin in the “Waitlist” status.
- %WL: the maximum allowed number of PNRs in percentage of the authorized level of a cabin in the “Waitlist” status.
The parameters of managing waitlist in a booking class:
- MWL: the maximum allowed number of PNRs in a booking class in the “Waitlist” status.
- %WL: the maximum allowed number of PNRs in percentage of the authorized level of a booking class in the “Waitlist” status.
- CWL (close waitlist): waitlist is not available. If the parameter is active, then adding to waitlist in the corresponding class is forbidden.
- ACWL (auto confirm waitlist): prohibition of automatic confirmation of PNRs in the “Waitlist” status (move of the PNR to the HK status). If the parameter is active, then automatic confirmation of PNRs in the “Waitlist” status in the corresponding class is restricted.
Additional counters of bookings on waitlist:
- BWL: a number of bookings on waitlist.
- GrWL: a number of group bookings on waitlist.
When managing waitlist, it is necessary to consider the following conditions:
- When manual confirmation, PNR moves from the HL status to the HK status.
- When automatic confirmation, PNR moves from the HL status to the HK status if ACWL indication for a booking class is not assigned.
Managing waitlist is carried out by the "Waitlist" mass operation.
