Flight schedule is information defining schedule, structure and a description of services offered by a carrier to individual and juridical persons on a flight.

Flight schedule management is a combination of processes allowing to form and modify flight period information.

A flight is formed at the moment when a schedule and its parameters are specified. In case in the Carrier settings section newly formed flights are configured to be open for sale, then as a schedule is formed and published, seats on a flight start being sold whether there are any inventory business rules configured or not.

Parameters of inventory are applied to the formed schedule in accordance with the setting of the Raid create depth parameter which might be configured in the Carrier settings management section.

Flight schedule management contains the following functions:

Besides, there are additional operations connected to the schedule management process:

Schedule might be managed via the fillowing ways:

  1. by configuring specific flight parameters manually
  2. by business rules — configuring parameters of several flights at a time
  3. automatically on processing telegrams received from external systems.

Schedule management is connected with re-accommodation management and inventory management.

Schedule cancellation or modification may initiate passenger re-accommodation or PNR annulment, if modifications affect those schedule periods, for which tickets have already been booked.

Re-accommodation or PNR annulment is held out according to the business rules settings and carrier settings.

Messages on flight schedule management are kept in a system queue.

The following tags of SSM messages sent to GDS are supported in the Inventory system:

  • NEW
  • CNL
  • TIM
  • EQT
  • RPL.

ASM messages:

  • RPL
  • CNL
  • TIM
  • EQT.
Important.png In order to properly configure a flight schedule, check the following conditions:
  1. in the Configurations dictionary a sale configuration for the flight is created. If a seat is to be sold with numbers, then a physical configuration is also configured.
  2. in the carrier settings at least Cabins order and Raid create depth parameters are specified. As a schedule is created for a flight, inventory settings are applied to the flight automatically for a period specified in the Raid create depth parameter.
  3. system dictionaries are filled in.
