Booking access is carried out by booking access rules implementation. The booking access rules are defined by the following parameters:

  • The parameters defining a inventory of a carrier for which access and a period of access are determined (the Where parameter set):
    • Sales area
    • Flights
    • Origin
    • Destination
    • List of booking classes for which access is allowed and restricted
    • Departure period and frequency
    • Access period
    • Depth of sale as a difference (number of days) between a departure date and a date of access (booking).
  • The parameters defining for which units the Whom parameters are determined (the Whom parameter set):
    • Units with open access
    • Units with closed access.

Objects of the following types are used in the Whom parameter set as units with open or closed access:

  • booking system
  • language
  • currency
  • country
  • location (city or airport)
  • agency type
  • agency code
  • IATA agency code / ERSP/1H agency code/ POS
  • Inhouse ID
  • CLID
  • Terminal ID
  • Agent duty code or agent ID
  • combination of several units
  • all units.

Within one rule, it is acceptable to combine both one-type and different-type units.

Intersection of access rules by any parameters is also allowed.

Rule weight gradation is presented in the System.

Rule weight for the Whom parameter set is calculated for each particular booking by the following algorithm:

  1. Weight of the Whom parameter set is defined as the maximum weight of an object corresponding to particular booking parameters.
  2. If several rules of the same weight (the Whom parameter set) correspond to particular booking parameters then a priority rule is the rule whose object, which has defined the weight of the Whom parameter set, belongs to the parameters restricting access.

If no access rule of the Where parameter set corresponds to particular booking parameters then booking from free sales area is allowed and booking from special areas is restricted.

If several access rules of the Where parameter set correspond to particular booking parameters then an access rule with the higher weight, which is defined by sum of weights of individual parameters, is applied.

If several access rules of the same weight (the Whom parameter set) correspond to particular booking parameters then an access rule with the higher weight of the Whom parameter set is applied.
